The name Kwanzaa is derived from the phrase matunda ya kwanza, which means first fruits, or harvest, in Swahili. Celebrations often include singing and dancing, storytelling, poetry reading, African drumming, and feasting. Dr. Maulana Karenga, created seven guiding principles to be discussed during the week of Kwanzaa. The seven principles represent seven values of African culture that help build and reinforce community among African-Americans. During Kwanzaa, the phrase, "Habari Gani?" (What's the News?) is used a greeting as part of the celebration. The response is to joyfully shout the response of the principle for that day.

Celebrate the spirit of Kwanzaa displaying the seven principles on the front, with Habari Gani? on your left leg.

Well-made and lined with fleece, these comfortable Unisex Fleece Sweatpants will be your first choice for a casual everyday outfit—all you need to add is a graphic tee and sneakers to finish off the look.
